The Man Who Played Violin

How do we perceive beauty?

Beauty is something we all hold and something we all see in a different light. Some see it through the way you look, the actions you take or the things you say. I like to think of beauty as something that is in everything and everyone. It's in the trees, in water, people, animals, there's even beauty in nothing. Which sounds confusing but if you take a second to look out the window or the people you're sitting next to, you'll see this wonderful creation that came from nothing. That is beautiful.

Another way we perceive beauty is the way we reflect off of that beauty. For instance some people dance to show beauty in their movements. Most of us talk and speak to each other showing beauty through our words and through our laughter. We can show beauty through emotion. Crying when we're sad and smiling when we're happy. One of the biggest emotions that shows beauty is love. loving one another, loving the environment and most importantly ourselves. As you can see there are many different ways you can perceive and show beauty but they all depend on who you are and how you are beautiful.

If you take a handful of people and look at them you may only pick 2 or 3 people out of that crowd that you think are beautiful. But if you take the time to just look closely at those people you will realize how everyone is really beautiful. Most of us have 2 eyes, a nose, a mouth. We are all equally beautiful, why do we have to make it a competition?

Do we stop to appreciate it enough?

You can find beauty in everyone and everything. But you have to look for it, stop and appreciate it.

I feel like in modern day we only see beauty in looks. If you're tall, skinny, white, blue eyes and blonde hair you are beautiful. And if you don't have those qualities you're not. we have to realize that there is beauty in everything we can see and touch. We don't realize that beauty is right in front of us. One of the most common words a teenage girl will say is ugly. I'm ugly, she's ugly, that' ugly. This is said so often because of the beauty standards that have been set way before our time. We believe only certain things are beautiful and are unable to see the beauty in the world.

Can we recognize the talent in a unexpected context?

Different people recognize the different talents in the world. Some can recognize the talent and beauty in playing a instrument. Some can recognize the talent in writing. It's not that we don't want to or are stupid for not being able to, that's just not how we we're made. But we can all find true talent and beauty in the unexpected and unknown.

Beauty isn't predictable. You can't think "I'm gonna go out today and find beauty in a wall that i will see on 2nd street." we never know when we will find beauty in something unexpected. And if we just stop and listen, we can.

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?

If we can't stop and listen to one of the most amazing sounds on earth then we're missing a whole lot. We need to take a second to look up from our screens and look at the beautiful world surrounding us. When we do that we can recognize the true beauty in life.
